Highway 243/Osceola Road Bridge work extended to early October
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Highway 243/Osceola Road Bridge over the St. Croix River is expected to be reopened by early Oct. The bridge was originally scheduled to reopen to traffic by Sept. 28, but crews will require a little more time to complete their work.
Motorists will continue to be directed to follow the posted detour north to cross the river at Taylors Falls during the closure. Access to the Osceola Landing will be maintained from the Minnesota side of the bridge throughout construction.
Crews are restoring the bridge deck, resurfacing road and repairing hillside erosion as part of the project. The bridge has been closed since Sept. 12.
The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic by Oct. 6, weather permitting.
Once the project is complete, motorists will experience improved pavement and a smoother ride on the bridge.
