Hwy 22 project south of Litchfield begins Monday, April 17

WILLMAR, Minn. – The Highway 22 project south of Litchfield begins Monday, April 17th. Highway 22 will be closed and the detour will have motorists utilize Meeker CR 1. The project is anticipated to be complete, weather permitting, by the end of June.

The project, which includes the resurfacing of Highway 22 near Cedar Mills to the southern limits of Litchfield also includes the replacement of culverts and the construction of turning lanes.

Motorists can expect a smoother road surface, repair to drainage and increased safety. The cost of the project is $5.5 million dollars. MnDOT held three public open houses (in Litchfield) on the project. Knife River is the contractor on the project.
