Hwy 22 Mankato to Mapleton opens at 4 p.m.

MANKATO, Minn. — The Highway 22 Mankato to Mapleton project will open to traffic today (November 7) at approximately 4 p.m. Traffic has been detoured since late March.
The 2017 project included reconstruction and a new bridge over the Cobb River in Beauford.

In 2018 Highway 22 will be reconstructed from north of Beauford to Blue Earth County Road 15 with a detour to Blue Earth County Road 10 and Highway 83.

Other Highway 22 improvements from Mapleton to Mankato will be as follows:

  • 2018: Construct roundabout at Highway 22 and Blue Earth County Road 90 and resurface from County Road 15 to County Road 90 (same detour as 2018 Highway 22 reconstruction)
  • 2019: Replace trees removed in 2017 and 2018 with landscaping to beautify Victory Drive Memorial Highway and honor Veterans.
