Brief detour for Hwy 15 project in Fairmont starts next week
MANKATO, Minn. — Highway 15 motorists in Fairmont should expect a short and brief detour starting midweek, next (August 22-23) to allow crews to complete some necessary sewer work.
The detour to repair utilities on Highway 15 between the intersections of Blue Earth Avenue and Tenth Street is expected to take about three days. Traffic will be signed to 10th Street, N. Prairie Avenue and Blue Earth Avenue.
In addition to the detour, drivers can expect lane restrictions and brief traffic delays to continue as the project progresses with intersection crossings and signal work until early September.
The project includes resurfacing, upgrading traffic signals, pedestrian ramps, sections of sidewalk and some storm sewer lines. Duininck, Inc. of Prinsburg was awarded the project with a bid of $4,880,555.46.
