Open house on Highway 15 project in Fairmont set for June 27 Construction planned to begin early July
MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the City of Fairmont will hold an open house to share information on the resurfacing project on Highway 15 in Fairmont that is expected to begin in early July.
Businesses and residents are encouraged to attend the open house from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27 at the Holiday Inn, 1201 Torgerson Dr., Fairmont. MnDOT staff and the contractor will be on hand to answer questions and share construction information.
In addition to improving the pavement, this project will upgrade traffic signals, pedestrian ramps, sections of sidewalk and some storm sewer lines.
Drivers can expect lane restrictions and brief traffic delays along the project. A short term detour to repair utilities on Highway 15 between the intersections of Blue Earth Avenue and Tenth Street is also planned. MnDOT has been working closely with the City of Fairmont and the Fairmont Chamber in minimizing the impacts to businesses during the project.
Duininck, Inc. of Prinsburg was awarded the project with a bid of $4,880,555.46.
