One-day closure of Highway 63 north of Zumbro Falls for pipe repair work

Motorists should be alert on Wednesday, Nov. 7, for a one-day closure of Highway 63 north of Zumbro Falls as crews repair a pipe culvert, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Highway 63 motorists will follow a signed detour around the work zone. The detour route for northbound Highway 63 is Highway 60 west to Wabasha County Road 3 north to Wabasha County Road 17 east back to Highway 63. Southbound traffic follows the route in reverse. The detour is expected to be removed by the end of the day on Nov. 7, weather permitting.

Rochester Sand and Gravel of Rochester, Minn. is the prime contractor. During this $3.85 million project, crews have removed a layer of the existing pavement and replaced it with new blacktop, replaced several pipe culverts and installed guardrail.

Motorists interested in this project can go to the MnDOT project website for information and sign up for email updates at mndot.gov/d6/projects/hwy63-repaving-north-of-zumbrofalls/index.html.
