Intermittent lane closures on I-94 in Moorhead begin Sept. 7
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Intermittent lane closures on the Interstate 94 Red River bridge between Moorhead and Fargo, N.D., are scheduled to begin Thursday, Sept. 7.
The closures are necessary so crews can install scaffolding on the underside of the bridge to complete their preventive maintenance work, which includes painting the bridge beams. The closures will also be used by a separate crew working to upgrade the anti-icing system on the bridge.
Crews will set up the closures after 8:30 a.m. each day to avoid the peak traffic hours. They will be removed late each afternoon. Backups are possible, however, due to the high volumes on I-94.
The lane closures are expected to last about four weeks. The westbound lanes will be impacted for about two weeks followed by the eastbound lanes.
