Hwy 12 resurfacing project between Benson, Hwy 59 begins June 5
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Motorists on Highway 12 between Benson and Highway 59 near Holloway will encounter intermittent lane closures when a resurfacing project begins Monday, June 5, weather permitting. The project also includes grading work on the north side of Danvers for a living snow fence, which will be installed next spring.
During the project, flaggers and pilot cars will allow one-way, alternating traffic through the work zone. Drivers must obey the flagger and follow the pilot car. Motorists entering the highway from driveways or other roads that intersect with Highway 12 must wait for the pilot car to pass, then follow it through the work zone.
The highway will always remain open to traffic.
Hardrives of Rogers is the prime contractor for the $4.4 million project. Work is expected to be complete by the end of July.
The project will result in a smoother, safer ride along 15 miles of Highway 12.
