Expect lane closures, short delays on Hwy 169 between Zimmerman and Princeton week of Sept. 11

ST. CLOUD, Minn. –   Motorists can expect short delays as traffic will be reduced to one lane as crews micro surface both directions of Highway 169 between Sherburne County Road 4 in Zimmerman and Highway 95 in Princeton beginning Sept. 11.

Work will be done in segments between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., on good weather days, and will take up to eight days to complete.

Micro surfacing is a maintenance technique that has proven effective at extending pavement life of newer roadways at a fraction of the cost of resurfacing.  The treatment is applied as a liquid consisting of asphalt, cement, aggregate and water.  A Zamboni-like machine mixes and applies the material at a depth of around 3/8 of an inch.
