Public invited to learn about Highway 10 Lake Orono bridge replacement project in Elk River June 28

Construction and lane closures begin July 6

BAXTER, Minn. – Elk River area residents, businesses and motorists are invited to attend an informational open house to learn about a major construction project that will replace the Highway 10 bridge spanning Lake Orono in Elk River in 2017 and 2018.

The public open house will be held Wednesday, June 28, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Elk River City Hall, 13065 Orono Pkwy NW, in the Upper Town Conference room.

Open house attendees will be able to learn about the project’s construction details, planned traffic changes and detour routes, view large layouts of the project, speak with project staff, get questions answered and take home project information.

The Highway 10 Lake Orono bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin July 6, 2017. When complete in fall 2018, the project will replace the Highway 10 bridge spanning Lake Orono in Elk River, resurface Highway 10 between Joplin Street NW and Xenia Ave NW, improve the Highway 10/Joplin Street/185th Avenue intersection, construct a new trail between Gary Street NW and Simonet Drive NW, install new drainage infrastructure and make other improvements.
