Prescribed fire near Hwy 10 Travel Information Center in St. Cloud scheduled May 10

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Local residents, motorists and others along Highway 10 near the Travel Information Center in east St. Cloud may see smoke from roadside prescribed fires beginning after 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 10. The Travel Information Center is located three miles east of Highway 23 in St. Cloud.

Traffic should not be affected and all roadways will remain open.

The prescribed fires are controlled by trained crews and conducted within MnDOT rights of way during optimal weather conditions to ensure safety and effectiveness, and are used to improve native vegetation and weed control.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution and slow down in work zones.
